PokerStars Commission
PokerStars commission consists of 'rake' at ring game tables and 'entry fees' for tournaments.
PokerStars Tournament Entry Fees
We receive commission on tournaments in the form of an entry fee: a fixed cost of entry taken at the time of tournament registration. An additional entry fee may be taken at the time of rebuy or add-on during a rebuy tournament.
The entry fee is clearly indicated in the individual tournament lobby and during the registration process. There may not be an entry fee for every tournament; we may offer tournaments without commission.
PokerStars Ring Game Poker Table Rake
The rake is defined below for each game which we spread.
We do not charge rake if the hand ends on the first betting round (before the flop in Hold’em or Omaha, before Fourth Street in Stud variants, or before the Draw in Draw variants).
The HORSE mixed game includes only Limit games in the rotation, and therefore will be raked according to the Fixed Limit structures.
Some mixed games have parts of the game rotation which are Fixed Limit, and other parts which are No Limit and/or Pot Limit. Examples include 8-Game, Round of Each (Hold’em/Omaha), Mixed Hold'em and Mixed Omaha Hi/Lo. Hands played at these tables are raked according to the type of game dealt in that particular hand.
‘Number of players’ in the tables below refers to the players who were dealt into that particular hand, not the number seated at the table.
True Percentage Rake
Ring game rake is calculated as a true percentage using the ‘round half to even’ method of rounding.
